TyresNewcastleUponTyne.uk privacy policy
What we collect and why
1. Searching for tyres
When a registration goes in, both the registration and the postcode go to identify the tyre sizes your car needs and the centres near your postcode. That lookup is made with our fulfilment partner, Tyres.co.uk, which holds the vehicle and fitting data; nothing connects that search to who you are, and beyond the usual server logs it is not kept at all. A size search sends nothing personal at all.
2. The centre finder
The "nearest to you" finder on the fitting pages turns the postcode you type into a location using postcodes.io, a free public service, so the listed centres can be ranked by distance from you. The postcode is not recorded here; once the list is sorted it is gone.
3. Maps and weather
The maps use OpenStreetMap tiles, that your browser asks openstreetmap.org for directly, which means OpenStreetMap receives your IP address as any website does. The weather shown for Newcastle upon Tyne is asked for by our server, from the Met Office first and MET Norway if needed, for Newcastle upon Tyne as a whole; nothing about you is sent to either.
4. Cookies and logs
You will find no advertising or analytics cookies on TyresNewcastleUponTyne.uk, and nothing on it tracks you, on any page. The pages are served by Vercel, which keeps the usual short-lived server logs of IP address, browser and pages requested to keep the site secure and running, and not to work out who you are.
5. When you buy
When you go ahead and buy, you pass from this site and the rest of the order happens with our fulfilment partner, Tyres.co.uk. Your personal and payment details, your vehicle and your booking are collected and processed by Tyres.co.uk under its own privacy policy; that policy explains what is done with the information and how to use your rights over it.
6. Reviews
The reviews on the centre pages are verified buyers' reviews, supplied by Tyres.co.uk, with the author's name cut to a first name and an initial. No review is collected on this site, on any page; the site only displays what Tyres.co.uk supplies.
7. Your rights and contact
Under the UK's data protection law you can request a copy of the personal data held about you, have it put right or removed, and object to its being used. With so little held here, a request is most likely to be about an order, and orders are held by Tyres.co.uk; in both cases, start with the contact page. We may update this policy; the current version is the one on this page, with no separate notice given.
